Honesty becomes what helps us get through life or what ends up destroying us. With this in mind, it is essential to use honesty as the approach for every situation. Although many people prefer to lie their way through success, it is best to do so while being honest since in the end, the truth will eventually come out which could bring many consequences. This being said, honesty prevents you from encountering these undesirable outcomes, including losing those closest to you. To illustrate, in the television series, Glee, Mr. Will Schuster, the high school glee club director, spends a lot of time with his students, trying to get them to win competitions, such as Regionals and Nationals, by rehearsing in class and many hours after school, making him not have time for his wife, Terri. Consequently, she becomes upset and tells him she is pregnant, although in reality she is not, just so she could regain his attention. For instance, when Abraham Lincoln worked as a cashier, he gave a woman the wrong amount of change and later walked three miles to her house in order to give her the money he had mistakenly kept. Consequently, people heard of this news and knew he was a trustworthy and reliable person in who they could count on since he would always act with respect and kindness. In effect, when he ran for President of the United States, he was elected since many people believed in his actions and knew he was worthy of that position, even when others doubted he would. As a result, Lincoln was able to help bring the country together in the midst of crisis since he led by example by always seeking the best and speaking honestly which later granted him a title of “Best President of the United States”.
