Lord of the Flies: Honor The Macmillan children's dictionary states that honor is “a sense of what is right and proper; being fair and honest”. I believe that honor is having integrity and doing what is correct. Honor is often a physical act to show others how to behave or what the proper ways are. The expectations of an honor student include excellent grades, teamwork and completion of tasks in a timely manner. To be an english honors student, we must follow instructions carefully, use our communication skills wisely and effectively, and be able to maintain our supreme grades. I have chosen to be an english honors student because I have a strong passion for english and reading. I would like to use my experience in this class to help me get into an exceptional college. I would either like to pursue a career in english teaching a foreign language in another country or in history as a European history professor at a college. Even though ralph is the leader, I don’t think that he behaves honorably because he does not take a lot of other boy’s thoughts and ideas into consideration. Jack is also not honorable because he tries to dictate the boys and abuse some of them. I think that Simon behaves honorably because he is always gentle with the littluns and he constantly follows instructions and orders given by Ralph or Jack.
