Night Owls in the Hospital.
I’ve always been curious as to what happens inside of a hospital between the late hours of eleven and seven. Being that night time nurse or night owls have described this prolonged shift as being, “...A sleep deprived kingdom of vital checkups and crazed monsters…” What is the great problem that nurses face today within the hospital? Are nurse as safe within the hospital at night as they seem? What are the effects of sleep deprivation and what measures are to be taken by the hospital to ensure both patient and nurse safety?

My results are both alarming and mindful as to what actually happens on the shift to the nurses themselves. In the response to my question of personal safety rating the surveyed nurse placed their majority as being in the middle. (Average rating of 5.) This response makes me think that I and you should be more aware of the dangers that going to a public facility places us in especial when it’s a hospital. For we will never know who is coming through those twenty-four-hour open doors. Another question that I asked was. As a nurse do you think it is healthy for a person to work nights? With a yes or no answer choice. On a total of 14 out of 20, this question was marked no. This leads me to an obvious fact, which is that nurse know that it is unhealthy for themselves to work at night. Another one of my questions yields similar results. What is the worst thing that you think could happen to you on the night shift? I look towards one of the survey nurses who gave me an endearing response as quoted, “…That no one will be here to do the job that I do and if they are they will be afraid to do it.” To me, this says that yes nurses do face many problems but without them who would watch over those in need of life-saving
