On Wednesday, aside from my daily routine of taking care and feeding the resident animals and hospitalised patients as well as administering their medications and preparing the consultation rooms, I also ran several blood tests and topped up supplies in the operating theatre and consultation rooms. In preparation for a canine orchiectomy and dental procedure, I prepared the operating theatre, dental table, dental machine and necessary surgical instruments, I was also assigned to monitor the anaesthetised patient during the surgery. In addition, I restrained a dog for IV catheter placement and another dog for nail clipping.

On Thursday, there was a feline urethral obstruction emergency where I aided the veterinarian with the insertion of a urinary catheter. A kitten was also brought in with a fractured forelimb, hence I managed to observe and aid the veterinarian in casting its fractured limb. I also made the necessary preparations for both procedures by drawing up the induction medications and preparing required materials. Additionally, I made the necessary preparation for a feline ovariohysterectomy and a feline lumpectomy plus dental procedure. During the two procedures, I assisted the veterinarian with fetching required materials and adjusting the surgical lights. Besides that, I restrained a cat and a small dog for IV catheter placement, restrained a rather aggressive cat for subcutaneous injection, and guinea pigs for shaving and wound cleaning as well as the application of mite prevention.
