“To fire or storm the world must fall”, “An oath to keep with final breath”, “Foes bears arms to doors of death”: these are all prophecies fulfilled in Rick Riordan’s HOUSE OF HADES. The main idea of this novel is that the five remaining demigods: Jason Grace, Piper McLean, Leo Valdez, Frank Zhang, and Hazel Levesque, accompanied by Nico di Angelo and Coach Hedge, continue to set sail towards Greece aboard the flying warship, Argo II, to search for the Doors of Death and possibly save Percy Jackson and Annabeth Chase from Tartarus along the way.

Tartarus is where Percy and Annabeth fall to and must navigate to open the other Doors of Death in the Underworld. Epirus is the place within the House of Hades where the remaining five that haven't fallen to Tartarus are supposed to go and slay the giant and Pasiphae the sorcerer. The Doors of Death are where monsters who are banished go back up to the real world, and Percy and Annabeth use it as well to get back to Earth. There is an imaginary labyrinth made by the sorceress to trap Hazel and Leo so that they don’t free Percy and Annabeth from Tartarus. Venice is where Frank disintegrates all the katoblepones and receives the blessing of Mars. Split is where Jason gets the scepter of Diocletian to help them in Epirus. The protagonists consist of seven due to the fact that the narrator cycles to each character one after another.
