How African Americans Treated Hateful

Segregation The African Americans were free! No more slaves! However, life wasn't that much better. A few of the things that happened to them that was an injustice was, they were treated ferociously, they tried to fight back, also not all whites were hateful and they helped fight the battle. These are injustices in society. The African Americans had fewer rights and privileges. Children had to walk to school, but the white children had buses. Life was unjust and hard for all the African Americans during this time. In 1896 the Supreme Court legalized segregation of African Americans from whites. The Supreme Court said separate but equal, although it wasn't really equal. The African Americans didn't like being treated unfairly so they started to protest. However the white people got mad, and hurt them for protesting, but that just led to more protesting. They finally got their full freedom in 1964. …show more content…
An example of this is in a picture on http://www.minoritiesofindia.org/. This picture shows two drinking fountains, one is for whites and the other for blacks. The one for whites was more favorable than the one for blacks.This was wrongful for the African Americans because they didn't get as satisfying possession as the whites, just because they were different. Another example is some restaurants did not allow the African Americans in, they had signs that said something like “WE DON’T SERVE BLACKS”. The African Americans had only a few places they could go and it wasn't ever as superior as the places the whites ate at. The whites would sometimes harm the African Americans if they thought they “went out of their place.” They couldn't just do what they wanted, because they might do something to make a white person maniacal and then have a dilemma.
