Legend Compare and Contrast

The stories “Cat and Rat: The Legend of the Chinese Zodiac” and “How Cats and Mice Became Enemies” are legends that mean that you can trust somebody up to a point. This means that one of your friends could do something and then just lie to you. They could say that they didn’t do it and give an excuse, or they could do it on purpose. My hook explains why you should be careful of the friends you choose and my thesis explains what I am going to be explaining. This essay will show the similarities and differences of the two legends. First, this essay will explain how the two legends, “Cat and Rat: The Legend of the Chinese Zodiac” and “How Cats and Mice Became Enemies” are similar. The first similarity is that in both of the stories, the rat/mouse and the cat both had to cross a wide river to get to where they were going. A second similarity is that both of the stories explain why the cat and rat/mouse are enemies. Another similarity is that in both of the stories, the cat attacks the rat/mouse and then the rat/mouse get away. Finally, in both of the legends, “Cat and Rat: The Legend of the Chinese Zodiac” and “How Cats and Rats Became Enemies” they both state that the rat and mouse are both selfish. These are some of the

The first difference is that in the first story there is a rat and in the second story there is a mouse. A second difference is that in one story Rat and Cat rode on an ox, and in the second story Mouse and Cat made a boat out of a pumpkin. Another difference is that in the story “Cat and Rat: The Legend of the Chinese Zodiac” Cat was a girl, and in the other story Cat was a boy. Finally, “Cat and Rat: The Legend of the Chinese Zodiac” had a reward and “How Cats and Mice Became Enemies” had a destination. These are some of the differences in the two
