Abraham Lincoln was born on February 12, 1809, Hodgenville, KY. "Abraham Lincoln was the 16th president of the United States. He preserved the Union during the U.S. Civil War and brought about the emancipation of slave.'' President Abraham Lincoln was the first president to be a Republican in America. The Civil War in 1861 and led the Union to victory against the South and ended slavery in America. Lincoln was known for delivering the Gettysburg Address in spark of the Civil War in 1863. Abraham Lincoln not only was a historical figure to remember, but the start of change that is unforgettable: change that has forever embarked and influenced America for the better towards equality. The 16th president of the United States of America, Abraham Lincoln had some memorable moments that have left a mark in history. For instance, Lincoln led the Union to go against the South in order to abolish slavery. During this fragile and conflicting time in America, Abraham Lincoln conveyed a message of hope to the Union."The world will little note, nor long remember what we say here." Rather, the Bostonian remarked, "The world noted at once what he said, and will never cease to remember it. The battle itself was less important than the speech.''
