Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man’s character, give him power- Abraham Lincoln (“nearly all men can stand adversity”).
That's a good quote from Abraham Lincoln which you can probably assumed is what this Research Paper is about. He was also called “Honest Abe” because he never told a lie (“Abraham Lincoln”). The reason this research Paper is about Abraham Lincoln was because he was a very important person during the 1860s. Abraham Lincoln was born February 12,1809 in a backwoods cabin 3 miles south of Hodgenville , Kentucky. When he was 2 he was token to a nearby farm (“Abraham Lincoln”). Some of Abraham Lincoln’s party were distant from him because they believed martial law was going to be able to reconstruct the south and get all the slaves from the plantation owners. Abraham Lincoln changed the way the United States was during the 1860s. He changed it by helping the Union win the Civil War against the Confederates. He changed the United States to have no more slavery to the African American people. He was an important president in history because he freed slaves won the civil war and managed to unite the people of the divided nation. Abraham Lincoln was assassinated on April 15,1865 by John Wilkes Booth in Washington,D.C. at the Ford Theater (“Abraham Lincoln”). Among American heroes, Abraham Lincoln continues to have a unique appeal for his fellow countrymen and also for people of other lands (“Abraham Lincoln”). There was memorial built for him in Washington,D.C. Called the “Lincoln Memorial” it was dedicated to him on May,30 1922 (“Abraham Lincoln”). His mom died in autumn of 1818 which was his most unhappiest time in his child hood (“Abraham Lincoln”). Abraham Lincoln disliked the frontier poverty and hunting and fishing (“Abraham Lincoln”). He grew older and became a prairie lawyer in New Salem, Illinois at the new state capital. Abraham Lincoln first entered politics when Andrew Jackson was president (“Abraham Lincoln”).
