Good afternoon Martye, I think you did a great job discussing the case that you found this week and I found a similar case which has the same reason for losing U.S. citizenship. The petitioner Beys Afroyim was from Poland and he immigrated to the United States when he was nineteen years old in 1912. Afroyim became a naturalized U.S. citizen after fourteen years in 1926. He went to Israel in 1950 and he willingly voted in a foreign election in 1951 at Israel. In 1960, Afroyim applied to renew his United States passport, but the Department of State denied his renewal because he lost his U.S. citizenship due to voting in an election at Israel. “The Nationality Act of 1940 states that a United States citizen shall lose his or her citizenship if
