How Did Christianity Influence Greco-Roman Culture

Christianity has been influenced by many things but perhaps one of the most important is Greco-Roman culture and knowledge. Even though Christianity was developed with he helped with Greco-Roman culture it also clashed a lot in many different aspects of the religion. When Christianity began in ancient Rome it appealed more to the poor an enslaved because it gave them hope that they would have a better life after death. Christianity answered questions that Roman culture and religion dd not address. Roman culture stressed political importance and rules or morals for this world. Then it began to be hard to see the difference between the beliefs of an educated Christian and pagan. Once Constantine converted to Christianity Rome shifted from many immortal gods to one supreme God. When Constantine made a rule of tolerance for Christianity war broke out between factions. Christians became more vocal about how they related to others in the community. He attempted to stop the wars with no prevail , Christians remained being at war physically, verbally, and spiritually. Even though Christians tried to destroy all polytheists writings they failed. The few writings hat survived showed that the focus of Christianity was to make a clear separation between themselves and polytheists. Romans were required to make offerings to the gods annually in order to please them but Christians didn't not have to do that. Then the Romans believed that the whole town would be punished for the acts of those Christians who did not offer a sacrifice. Christianity was influenced in many different ways from Greco-Roman culture from the ideas of forms to the Greek philosophical writings. Also Greco-Roman culture clashed from Christians not offering sacrifices to destroying the written works of polytheistic views.
