Auschwitz had eleven million deaths throughout a twelve year time, in the holocaust there were only three hundred survivors of the eleven million. The novel Night by Elie Wisel is set in Auschwitz in concentration camps and about his experiences. The test discusses how Elie went through and survived the holocaust and his events that occurred. Wisel changed significantly during the holocaust. He changed physically, mentally, and spiritually

One way Wisel changed in the holocaust was physically. Elie drastically got really skinny because of the lack of food. Also when Elie was in these camps he wasn't treated to well by the S.S officers. During the holocaust Wisel was put to work in the camps all day which was really rough on his body. Elie was constantly dirty. He was dirty because of absence of showers or hygiene. He also slumbered on wood. Wisel was mostly always injured or sick because the lack of health care in the camps. Elie Wisel not only changed physically but spiritually.

He struggled with himself and couldn't understand why this was happening to him along with the other six million. When the S.S officers invaded their homes everything was taken from them. Elie was traumatized. He was tortured and beaten, along with watching many others get torchered and beat.

As one can see the holocaust was a horrendous time, it shows people’s character and how it changes through a terrible time. The text addresses all of these points by describing how something so terrible can change everything about one person. This novel shows you what people have experienced and went through the holocaust and how they thought their world was over. After all of the events and character changing events Elie and the few three hundred thousand survived his character was changed
