How did they preserve the food http://www.elizabethan-era.org.uk/elizabethan-food-and-diet.htm In the Elizabethan Times the food was not in a freezer to keep cool and preserve the food they had to feed the animals during the winter and the animal was slaughtered in the autumn with was preserved in salt.The biggest problem was that the food taste like salt and that was very harsh for people back then eating it, to make the salt taste disappear they added spices, the spices that they included was pepper, mustard , saffron, cloves, cinnamon and cardamom.They also included some sauces to make it completely disappear.

In the Elizabethan Times the diet was horrible especially for the rich.the rich ate a few vegetable in there diet and not that much fresh fruits and they acted like fruits were not fancy, fruits were served in pies to the rich and not to the poor. The poor people get to eat the fruits and got a little better nutrition than the rich.
