J. Edgar Hoover John Edgar Hoover was mentioned as being the most powerful man in his time when he created the Federal Bureau of Investigation. He started his career in the General Intelligence Division during World War 1 and was appointed lead of the vision after his tremendous work (S4). Soon after, he was forced to resign after the shutdown of the division, but a new opportunity sprouted in another area of the government. A year into Calvin Coolidge’s presidency, he was appointed director of the Bureau of Investigation. The Federal Bureau of Investigation changed immensely under the power of John Edgar Hoover who implemented a national fingerprint file, applied forensics laboratories to the analyzing of a crime scene, and modified the focus behind the organizations crime fighting.
