King George iii was a very notable figure during the American Revolutionary war. Although he is greatly known for the loss of the American colonies, he spent his life devoted to helping people. King George was born on June 4th 1738 in London England. His father, Prince of Wales, Fredrick died in 1751 leaving George next in line to become king. Before Queen Victoria, King George was England’s longest ruling monarch. King George married Princess Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Streiltz, and later purchases a home big enough for him, his wife and 15 children. He was first of the house of hanover to become an educated Englishman. He had very high hopes of what leadership should look like. He was the king of Great Britain and Ireland.

Many people think and believe that George was a victim of a misdiagnosis. George was held in isolation room where he was tied down to a chair or kept in a straightjacket. He received no care or proper treatment, therefor whatever was really wrong with him was left untreated and a new problem was formed because he was isolated, depressed and not eating because they treated him like he was a prisoner. Many studies have been done between now and then and they think George suffered from what is called porphyria, which is a rare blood disease that can affect the nervous system. If George would’ve received the proper treatment and diagnosis he wouldn’t have been locked up for a year, not helping people. They should have ran tests and proper George recovered a year later and resumed his position as a king. His Prime Minister William Pitt the Younger led another war with France called the French Revolutionary war, adding Ireland to the United Kingdom. After George’s mental outburst he became greatly known and well appreciated. He became the symbolic representation of peace for France during the war. George helped led France into another successful
