Lyndon B. Johnson seemed to know what he was talking about. He talked about poverty and the issues of it, and how they could fix it. How he wanted to go to war against poverty. His end goal being to prevent poverty entirely. So obviously his plan did not work. We have not won the war on poverty yet. It's hard to say that we ever will, because there will always be somebody who wants more food, more opportunities, and more hope.
