Everyone has a dream. Martin Luther King Jr.’s dream was to end racism and have all citizens as equal as one another, no matter the skin color. He worked with various support groups that were involved in peaceful protesting that spark the revolution for equal rights and paved the path to end racism. This movement took about two years to fulfill the dreams of living a non-prejudice life. During the process protesters faced challenges that were so extreme that some suffered from public humiliation or even death. Martin Luther King Jr. changed many people's thoughts and perspectives on the issue of racism in America, he also influenced many African American’s to stand up for their constitutional rights. What Martin did will forever change the history and the future of our country and for this we are grateful. Most southern states then were populated with racist white folk. They thought it was morally right to be prejudice towards people of color, by exercising hate crimes. Judges and police were corrupted in these states. police brutality was an everyday thing in Alabama and other southern states. And judges usually chose the white people's side rather than listening to an African American. It was extremely rare for an African American to have a fair trial during this racial divide. Even though slavery was ended many years ago, racism was still an egregious problem which was influenced throughout profuse young minds of the white race. The uprising of African Americans wanting an equal life made the situation worse, making more and more being labeled as beasts and the derogatory name “nigger”.
