It is 1955, and a fourteen-year-old African American by the name of Emmett Till, is kidnapped and brutally murdered while visiting family in Money, Mississippi. His execution is the result of him flirting and whistling at a white woman. Take just a quick moment and imagine being beat nearly to death, shot in the head, and thrown in a river for flirting with someone of the opposing color. Racism has existed for about 350 years in the United States of America, but was especially evident only 65 years ago. Despite the social injustice issues that were being faced during this time, an extraordinary civil rights leader and activist by the name of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., wanted to make change and bring discrimination to an end.
