She always wanted to make a change in the world and with her many works of art she did. She made many inspiring stories and was inspired herself by the others around her. Being born and raised in a place where racism and segregation was common, she had much to think about as she wrote. Which she later decided to share with the world and made a drastic difference in our society today. She also changed the way we think of others. Maya Angelou promoted freedom from racism and inspired people to speak out through her works including I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings, “Still I Rise”, and The Heart Of A Woman.
