How Did Nat Turner Rebellion Change The South

August 22, 1831, Nat Turner had claimed that god had told him to kill all his enemies. He had led a revolt into a plantation house and killed the farmer, his wife, and his children. He killed about 60 white people in total in only two days. His revolt was later crushed by a militia and they were killed or sentenced to death. This changed more than just the South, it changed the British also. They later on ended slavery completely.

The South tried to defend themselves by saying that slavery is good for both races and that the were built for that type of work. Scientist tried to prove that black men were apart of a different species. They measured their skulls and studied their body structure to show how they are not that smart and made for
