United states and Russia had become the world powers, after being the victors of the war. With the world knowing that the United States had successfully created an atomic bomb, other nations tried to succeed in making one as well. American spy planes flying over Russia detected a massive amount of radiation in the atmosphere, this indicated that Russia had successfully created an atomic bomb. This new information made the world grow in more fear because the thought of nuclear war being possible was just crazy. Russia and the United States had just entered the Cold War. A war based on spreading ideals that could have easily erupted into something greater, like a nuclear war. A race to better weapons emerged and the Hydrogen bomb was made. This all started with the first atomic bomb created that Robert Oppenheimer assembled. He started this new world of weapons and danger, he was the one to blame. But he cannot be blamed he was just a scientist that was doing a job. The job was going to be done either way, he is just credited for making it all happen.
