Samuel Adams was born in Boston, Massachusetts on September 27, 1722. His parents were Samuel Adams Sr. and Mary Adams. He had eleven siblings, but only two lived past the age of Three, him and his sister Mary. He and his family were strong Christians. He went to Harvard and was a failed businessman and tax collector before he got into politics. Later in his life he was married to Elizabeth Checkley. His kids were named and Samuel and Hannah.

Samuel was known for helping start the sons of liberty. They were a Group of normal everyday people in the city, who were against the Stamp act and who wouldn't stand for it. Samuel was one of the leaders of the sons of liberty. At their first protest, Ebenezer Richardson fired into the crowd, killing a young boy named Christopher Sneider. When the shot fired, they thought they were starting a war so they shot some more and it ended up killing five people. Samuel was very adamant to make sure the people were memorialized and made sure they had proper funerals. This set a fire in Samuel and he told the sons of liberty to keep on fighting.
