Many great things have come from Socrates. He is one of the earliest philosophers to really make an impact on the world as we know it. Socrates was in search for the truth about wisdom. He defines philosophy as the search for wisdom through the pursuit of truth. Socrates criticized the sophists but by some people he was thought to be one.
As a philosopher, Socrates is known to take all angles on an argument. Because of this he was known to confuse people with simple questions and ideas, by breaking them down and looking at all sides of the question. Many people accuse Socrates of making his own ideas and ways about the world. Even though we have taken many of the ideas that Socrates thought of, he did not actually leave any written documents
