In 607 AD Prince Shotoku sent people to China to study about the Chinese civilization. The Chinese writing system had a great influence on the Japan, along with the art of landscape. Japan followed the simple things like cooking, gardening, tea, and hairdressing. Japan also modeled the strong government system, but by not using the civil device system they maintained their culture.

The Song Dynasty created the stereotype of what seems to be characterized as Asians today. Before the Song Dynasty the Chinese ate wheat and drank wine, but after the Song they were known for eating rice and drinking tea. The first explosion of population occurred in the Song, then Chinese women were expected to bound their feet to show their how wealthy they are.

In 1200 AD the Mongols started their empire. The Mongols conquered about 10% of the world and divided their territories in to four areas called the Khanates. The Mongols had some good and bad properties. Some of the good properties are that they gave women rights, and had religious tolerance. But the bad properties are that they were extremely brutal, and spreader killer diseases.

In 1227 AD Genghis Khan dies, but that didn’t stop the Mongols, his successors kept conquering. His successor conquered land from the Yellow Sea to the Baltic Sea and from the Himalayas to northern Russia. That as a period of called the Pax Mongolica, which caused Mongol peace. Mongol peace lead to trade and Kublai Khan, Genghis Khan’s son, unifying east and west
