The Great Depression was quite literally a reflection of its name. Mass amounts of people dealt with hardships that most people of our time today couldn’t even begin to fathom. Imagine being a young adult, and having all of your freedom being taken away. Many Adults, and even children were forced to find jobs, work extremely hard labor, while getting paid very little for the long hours they put in, not to mention the terrible conditions theses factories were in alone. Without President Franklin Roosevelt, and the programs he created that helped fix and mend some of the problems this terrible time faced, the US could’ve endured a longer lasting impact on society. Life today wouldn’t have been the same. This terrible time was a result of many different things; one of the most critical ones, was the crash of the stock market, since such a drastic drop in prices occurred it lead to a major crisis, which then flooded into all other problems. Since prices on items rose, while many people weren’t making enough for a living, industries were beginning to fail because their products were not being sold. The supply and demand balance had been thrown off, which became life or death to many citizens. Living was extremely hard for the lower class citizens, many children …show more content…
This is better known as The New Deal. His focus was on helping those struggling to find jobs, and most important was to end the nation's struggle (P. 1, http://www.history.com/topics/new-deal). He created specific organizations, which targeted specific groups of people and so forth. As a whole, Roosevelt was able to reconstruct and rebuild the United States, saving the country and citizens from what could have been an even greater disaster than the depression itself. His organizations that were created back then, are essentially what have created the stable economy that the US is built upon
