Boom Boom! America wants to become its own country. The Colonist are tired of being tax because it wasn’t fair. America will tried to gain their independence during the Revolutionary War. This War was a huge turning point for Americans to become its own country.
It 1763 and Indians weren’t happy with the British. Ottawa Chief started up the Pontiac’s Rebellion. The Pontiac’s Rebellion ended up killing numerous setters and destroyed several British forts along the Ohio River. British weren’t able to protect there settler during the Rebellion so in a result the British came up with the Proclamation 1763 and no could settle west of the Appalachian mountains. It started with Thomas Paine and his Common sense. This called the end of British ruling the Colonist. In 1776 Thomas Jefferson will write the Declaration of Independence. This was written because we didn’t want to be under the king’s rule anymore. The Declaration of Independence gave us loyalists or Tories which were opposed. The British Soldier when known as lobster backs. The battle of Valley Forge is where George Washington was staying and had one of harsh winter. Lot of his soldier died because of the cold and diseases. Americans had Indians and African Americans helping them fought the British. Also women play a role by being a spies or messenger. Another Battle was the Battle of Trenton. This was against the Hessian which are German soldiers and they sundered quickly. This plan failed because swamps, lakes, hills, and forest and they all arrived at different times. Some ended up fighting the Patriots at the battle of Saratoga under General Horatio Gates.
