Since the beginning of time, mankind has been under the influence of many different religions and Gods. Each religion has had a tremendous impact throughout time on the human race. One of the biggest and most well known acts in the biblical Book of Exodus is the Ten Plagues of Egypt. This was a horrific show of power by God toward the Egyptian Pharaoh to release Moses’s people. The Ten Plagues of Egypt has been seen in today’s world, however, it has also influenced many literature and modern-day film and television show creations.
Many generations have taken notice on this biblical story and have made it a point for everyone to remember this event. Today’s people have been able to see these plagues in the civil society mankind lives in.

This tragic event has had a significant effect not only on tv shows but on movies as well. On season two episode nine of Family Guy, one of the main characters Peter Griffin acts as if he is God and can create miracles. Because of this, God punishes the Griffin family by sending six of the ten plagues onto them(If I’m Dyin’ I’m Lyin’ Family Guy). Movies like Nightmare on Elm Street and the Amityville Horror II: The Possesssion both contain scenes of graphic scenes involving the first plague. The Ten Plagues of Egypt, undoubtedly, has continued to impact civilization since the time it was written. It is difficult to argue that it is something that is not noticeable in today’s society through the culture and development in the world. It has brought changes to each generation’s future and it has shown throughout time. Without the lessons it teaches, some of society’s natural disciples would not exist.
