During the early 1600s, King James I ruled England. He made his own laws and ran the government. All the people had to be Christian and joined the church. Some people called themselves Puritans and even though they were Christian. They also did not wanted to be part of the church that King James had. In 1608 some Puritans escaped to Holland. They are also very scared that their ship may sink. 54 Puritans escaped England and settle in Massachusetts on November 9, 1620. The land was spotted and the Mayflower had been on the ocean for sixty-five days.
The Wampanoags came here long before the Pilgrims (also the Puritans) came. There houses was called Wetu. The Wetu is where the Wampanoags sleep in. it was made out of wood. The Wampanoags grow corn, beans and squash to eat. During fall and winter the Wampanoags hunt for bear,deer,moose,wild turkeys, and other animals.The Wampanoags were much different than the Pilgrims.

The children and the servants brought food for the feast. They had wild turkeys, Peas,pumpkin,squash,corn and beans. During that time they did not had clean water it was dirty during the old days. Didn’t had foods that is fride. But now we have clean water and we have pumpkin pie and other yummy food.
