Winston Churchill was an undoubtedly cogent leader during his time spent as Prime Minister for Great Britain. Churchill led many battles but came back with an astonishing win over Germany in World War II. Winston had not been very successful in his early life. He tried attending Harrow Prep School but soon discovered he would not be efficacious on this path. In 1893, Winston found an alternative and started attending military school where he would travel with the militia. In the beginning of his military experience, he traveled as a journalist. He fought communism and wanted to be more involved with the power of his country. He knew he could make a change for the better. Later in his life he became much more committed to being a leader, as well as a political figure for Great Britain. Churchill started off in the House of Commons as a conservative but 4 years later he “crossed the chamber” and became liberal. He decided that turning away from domestic politics would be best for him and became the first Lord of Admiralty in World War I. …show more content…
Germany alone overcame the majority of Western Europe in a span as small as two months. Politicians across Britain voted to negotiate with Adolf Hitler in the fear of losing what all of Western Europe had already been robbed of. Winston Churchill overcame this, and in some sense battled his own stubborn people to go to war alone. He was not going to give up. More than determined, Churchill and his troops came together to prepare for more brutal battles. Much of this war would depend on the Royal Air Force’s ability to hold the Luftwaffes from gaining air control.
