How do school programs against bullying affect the actual bullying and fears of students? Schools have programs against bullying because bullying continues to be a major problem in the schools and people are continuously trying to find different programs and other ways to combat the bullying problem. I strongly believe that school bullying programs do not help the problem of bullying at all. According to www.dosomething.org over 3.2 million students are victims of bullying each year and approximately 160,000 teens skip school every day because of bullying. Over 67% of students believe that schools respond poorly to bullying, with a high percentage of students believing that adult help is infrequent and ineffective. According to the researchers at The University of Texas at Arlington school programs may only make the bullying problems worse. Ones of the effects of anti bullying programs is failure of the administration and staff of the schools to follow through and help prevent the problems. I know this is very true first hand because as a matter of fact I have been bullied at school from kindergarten to even now as a senior. In the three different schools I have been to there have been many different anti bullying campaigns from speeches by different speakers, to wearing a ribbon for the month, to the Rachel's Challenge program. After the anti bullying speeches the teachers and administration always seem to say if you are ever getting bullied or have a problem with someone you can talk to them and it will get taken care of.
