Ten Little Indians was written by Agatha Christie. This novel is about ten people who are invited to an island by an anonymous person. However, at the time they did not realize they were invited to pay for the crimes they had committed. They believed they were summoned for job offers, late summer vacations, or invitations to see old friends. As the novel continues, all ten people end up being killed akin to the way the Indians die in the nursery rhyme. Throughout the story, the author draws people in by having shocking twists, mysterious deaths, and a brutal suicide. This is a well written book full of suspense and action.
In the novel the author’s writing is amazing. The author made everything dramatic, making it very appealing a variety of readers. Agatha Christie used abrupt events to make the story puzzling and mysterious for the reader. We’re next! He wants us to look for him! He’s counting on it” (Christie 175). In the quote the characters are scared, frightened, and concerned how their own lives will come to a conclusion. In this part of the novel the remaining people believe that there is a man on the island behind all the mysterious deaths and occurrences. However, not only are the characters left in suspense, but so are the readers. This book is very hard to foreshadow making it more captivating.
