Eliezer loses faith in God and family through the experiences he has from the Nazi concentration camp. Eliezer struggles both physically and mentally for his life and his fathers. To the point where he loses faith and no longer believes in God. Eliezer tells us about how he gave up and no longer cared with what went on with his life, after his fathers death. "I shall not describe my life during that period. It no longer mattered..."(Pg. 113)
As Eliezer hears the words "Men to the left, women to the right.."(Pg. 29) He began to lose faith and realized that was the last time he would ever see hi mm and site again. "In one terrifying moment of lucidity, I thought of us as damned souls...without any hope of finding either..."(Pg. 36) He was lost
