Frederick Douglass was a very courageous individual. In his book “Narrative of the life of Frederick Douglass” he explains his life from a young boy to a former slave who escapes in his later years . After enduring the painful experience of watching slaves of which he encountered being beaten and overpowered by his many slaveholders , he fought to master his freedom. According to Douglass in his Narrative , in chapter ten he experienced a turning point in his life . Should Douglass have stayed in slavery? He asked himself this every single day . Although slavery may have been tough , if he were to be caught in his escaping he would be in more trouble than before . In all , this shows Douglass’s courage, bravery, and fortitude . Identically
