In John Steinbeck's novel Of Mice and Men, George and Lennie travel with each other. Lennie is mentally slow, and George takes care of him since Lennie's Aunt Clara died. When Aunt Clara died George took Lennie to work on ranches. Lennie went to see his pup in the barn when he accidentally killed it. He was really upset, so he covered him up with the hay. While he was covering him up, Curley's wife walked in and asked him what he was doing. She was lonely because she has no one to talk to, so she sat in the barn and talked with Lennie. When Lennie feels her hair she starts to scream because he will not let go. He tells her to be quiet or George will be mad, so he covers her mouth and she starts to suffocate. George should not have killed Lennie because he trusted George and he did not know any better. …show more content…
Lennie believed in George when Lennie said, “George wouldn't do that nothing like that. I been with George a long a time. He’ll come back tonight-”(Steinbeck 71).
