In the novel, The Scarlet Letter, Hester prynne responds to the punishment of her crime. Injustice for the sins she committed, in a way that allows her to become a better person. Therefore redeems herself by accepting herself and allowing that acceptance to sink in.
The injustice in this novel is adultery which was committed by Hester prynne and Arthur Dimmesdale and she is forced to wear a big “A” on her chest for punishment. This crime runs its course because Hester and Arthur are willing to run away together and live in their sin. Hester's daughter pearl is subject to the shame her mother has bore. The symbol of the novel has given Hester strength to redeem herself free of her sin.
