Aldous Huxley’s satirical novel Brave New World entails a society where everything is about profit. This society is technologically and scientifically advanced, and the government possesses total control over its citizens. Monogamy, family, and individuality have ceased to exist, while promiscuity and drug use are encouraged. Huxley’s intended for this novel to serve as a warning for what could arise if we took technology or science too far or if our government had too much power.
Brave New World focuses heavily on Henry Ford. His invention of the assembly line is groundbreaking technology. Huxley mocks how people responded to this by writing about a world where Henry Ford is worshipped as a deity. The worship of Ford replaces Christianity.
