Language, literacy literature are the foundations of modern life, having permeated their way into nearly every aspect of the digital age. Current students are bombarded with information in a variety of formats daily. Which is why it is paramount for current education to ensure that students are exposed and taught a wide range of different text types in a multitude of ways, which are meaningful for current of digital natives. Students need to be given plenty options and be able to see the purpose for their learning with strong connections to their world. Multitasking and critical thinking are key and important skills that need to be fostered at a young age to ensure that they are able to keep up within the fast pasted new world. Due to this the current curriculum is full, which leaves the teacher with little time to fit it all in, resulting in teachers need to make cross curriculum links within their lessons (Savage, 2012). Which fuelled the selection of artefacts one and two, with both respectively, allowing students to work on more than just the literacy and language skills. From doing this it not only makes learning more engaging and intriguing for the students it also makes current teaching practices easier to implement effectively.

A key need within the current classroom is to be addressing multiple intelligences and allowing students abundant opportunities to learn and develop in different way (Stanford, 2003). Through implementing the artefacts that I have chosen within a classroom teacher would be able to allow students to learn in a variety of ways while still entering into blooms creating stage of understanding (Forehand, 2010) resulting in deeper and more meaningful learning

I am a strong believer in the idea of mixed ability grouping a feel that students learn best when they are able to teach and learn from one another. Van der Meer & Scott, (2013) has indicated it isn’t just the lower level student that benefits from peer learning rather the teacher or expert is consolidating and refining their knowledge resulting in higher retention rates towards the information. Peer learning connects well with social learning, which enable students, Developing and learning about how easily and effectively the 5 E’s model can be transferred into the English curriculum has be intriguing. Through allowing students the opportunity to feel that they have a sense of ownership and control of their learning will enhance learner's interest as well as developing their ability to make decisions (Anil, Ö. & Batdi, V, 2015). This theory of learning relates well constructivism students are able to develop and work together to enhance their learning via being actively involved in the learning process, which has been outlined by (Winch, et al., 2014) as a highly effective way of instructing students. This method of enhancing learning, with students creating their own knowledge with the teaching, working as a facilitator towards their learning resonates well with me.
