How does Mrs. Jones change Roger? In the book “Thank You Ma’am” by Langston Hughes Roger tries to steal Mrs. Jones purse. Mrs. Jones catches him and then brings him to her home. After they get there she makes him dinner and tells him how her life was the same as Rogers and about some of the things she did as a young women. When Mrs. Jones shares her past with Roger it shows him that there are other ways of living you just have to work for it and find it. Mrs. Jones changes Roger by being his friend.
When Mrs. Jones lets roger come to her house and wash up. Making roger feel like Mrs. Jones cares about him. Roger even had a chance to escape but didn’t because he didn’t want to lose her trust.
