How Does Noise Affect A Working Nurse

In conclusion I believe that Nursing is a demanding and challenging career that requires a lot of commitment and hard work. Having researched the following vocational work issues i.e. Stress, noise and sound in the work place, I can conclude that these factors have the possibility to affect the nurse in a negative way if preventative measures have not been put in place. The hospital is a stressful environment and if dealing with un-cooperative staff members, interpersonal issues or many more causes of stress then the nurse tends to get frustrated and looses concentration. Talking to someone about what is going on is perhaps the best method to reduce stress. Noise and sound also effect the nurse in many ways. They can cause the nurse to lose focus, hear information wrong and may even cause headaches. Perhaps the best method in order to eliminate noise and sound within the workplace is getting sound absorbing ceiling tiles and walls.

I can conclude that diet, exercise and lifestyle equally effect the nurse in the workplace. This assignment as helped me understand how active the nurse already is due to the long exhausting shift work and the repetitive movements involved in their job role. Although their diet does not appear

Illnesses such as dermatitis, the flu, tuberculosis and musculoskeletal disorders can all have a negative effect on the nurse. These illnesses are not life threatening but can cause severe pain to the nurse and may lead to them having to take time off work. Before this assignment I knew very little about these illnesses and their signs and symptoms. It wasn't until I done my research that I gained my knowledge and therefore was able to apply it to my assignment. I enjoyed this aspect of the assignment as it allowed me to broaden my knowledge and research these occupational related illnesses
