Tell Tale Heart and the Cask of Amontillado written by Edgar Allan Poe’s purpose is to entertain the reader through a terrorizing and dark short stories. The Cask of Amontillado is about a man name Fortunato who insulted a family and so a man of the family buries him alive by tricking him . In Tell Tale Heart it is about a man who see and old man with a blind eye and it disturbs him very much. He kill the old man and thinks he can get away with it and later the police show up and he hears the pounding of the old man's heart and sees the police officers smiling and in the end he gives away that he killed a man. Poe uses his archaic style through Irony suspense and allusion to captivate the audience. In both short stories Tell Tale Heart and the Cask of Amontillado Edgar Allan Poe uses foreshadowing to intrigue the readers.
