he colonial rule over North America ended after the American revolutionary war the led to the declaration of American independence. Indeed, the revolutionary war was necessary to overthrow the Great Britain colonies that were socially, politically and economically exploiting Native Americans. The colonial rule was marred with injustice and rebellion. There are certain economic, religious, social, intellectual and political lifestyles or features that are specific to the colonial governance between 1607 to 1754 in North America.
To begin with, the political power that the colonial government exercised over the colonies was overwhelming. Indeed, such powers was a source of enslavement of the natives. The Great Britain through the king, the ministers and parliament put in place laws that allowed oppression of the natives. This weakened the moral fibre of the society. The colonialist mainly targeted weak people to carry out immoral activities for them by undermining their religious and social principles. For instance, there was provocation of the public to perform heinous acts that could justify the introduction of new oppression. The succession of one oppressive act after another as called the intolerable acts support this assertion. For example, it all started by the tea act then the tea party and the coercive acts.
