As a reader, I drew from the knowledge that I had learned throughout my education. I had heard of the troubles that tribes had to go through along the trail of tear, but I had never read a book that was written from the point of view of someone in the actually event. This book allowed me to explore the emotions behind the Native Americans during this point in history. As a read I was also able to listen to the perspective of other readers. It allowed myself to reflect on what I had thought of and explore theirs. After hearing of their point of view, I was able to go back through the reading and pick up on their findings. I began to apply this book to my daily life and see how it applied to the circumstances individuals go through daily, such as the hard times and confinement. This book also allowed me to reflect on my culture and society that I have grown up in. I relate it to the support that is present in my life and the community engagement. I learned that I enjoy applying books to my life and making sense of the character’s actions.

As I read How I Became A Ghost, I read the story from different perspectives and character’s point of view. The first time I read it, I only look through the narrators view, but then I began to approach the book from different focuses. Transactional Theory From using the transactional theory, I realized that before I read this book, I only saw the book through the eyes of adults during the Trail of Tears. I had listen to the idea of the parents having to load up all of their belongings and travel, but I never considered the children.
