How Is Cesar Similar To Mark Antony's Speech

Wondering where the commotion is coming from, and seeing Brutus walking out, ready to address the people, many were wondering why he did it, why he killed Cesar, his best friend. Then Mark Antony comes out, with Cesar's body, saying he will avenge Cesar. They both gave speeches, very compelling ones, appealing to different rhetorical thoughts. Also the consequences of everything that happened, and how their speeches played a part in this. This essay will discuss how different the speeches were.

Brutus was Cesar's best friend, so why did he kill him? He explains towards the middle of his speech, "Not that I loved Cesar less, but I loved Rome more." He then asked would you rather Cesar living and you dying slaves, or would you rather die free? With this question you can see he is appealing to the logos rhetorical thinking pattern. He did it for his country, which ended up causing more harm than good. See, by giving this speech, there were some who disagreed with Brutus, for instance, Mark Antony.
