Fort Myer is located along the Caloosahatchee River. It is the main attraction in Lee County. Fort Myers is a major tourist destination. I actually visited Fort Myers once when I was on my way to Miami. If you look on a map and locate Florida, you will see that Fort Myers is located on the southwest Florida region. The city was named after the famous General Abraham Myers. Abraham was a Jewish army officer who fought during the Seminole Wars.
