2.1 ABSTRACT

Noise pollution has been concerned in recent years, the degree of it affects people’s health is harsh and not lower than any other pollutions. So the organizations can exploit the business opportunities from the noise pollution which not only find the new market, but also reduce the harmful to people. This research project is a plan of the research to study how to exploit the business opportunities from the noise pollution in major cities in China, and there are five parts: problem statement, background and significance, objectives, research design and methods, strengthens and weakness of study, that prepare for the research.

3.1 INTRODUCTION

In today’s society, the development of economy is inseparable from industrial productions which have developed a hit-list of our several fears for health: that many toxic gases and liquids are discharged, the planet’s air and water are becoming ever more polluted. People always ignore the hazard made by another pollution---noise, abut all of everyone are used to living in a noisy environment. To stay a little longer in a quiet environment has become luxurious in major cities. Noise pollution can cause harm to our body: that damage hearing; that is harmful influence human nervous system and make people irritable; that interfere with sleep and tired. This research project will explore how to exploit business opportunities borne from noise pollution in major cities in China.

4.1 REVIEW OF LITERATURE

Over the last five years there have been many news and articles written about the growing environmental issues that China currently faces. While the majority of these article and recent research has focused on air pollution, not many have focused on the growing problem of noise pollution. Noise pollution is increasingly becoming a big course of not only discomfort but also causing many medical issues.

'Environmental noise is highly variable, both in terms of location and intensity. This variability combined with the variability in individuals' perception of noise greatly limit acoustics experts in their attempts to better measure and understand noise effects on humans; short term noise measurements provide a mere snap-shot of noise in time whilst longer term measurement over many days or months can be very expensive.'(Lomas 2013)

David Loma's argues that "as for any lasting effect this latest innovation will have on how we measure noise pollution, well it's too early to tell. Clearly there is promise, though. Sometimes there is an over-reliance on highly detailed fixed data and that can limit the flexibility of existing noise models. Obtaining data frommultiple locations across a wider area, all in real-time, might provide better 'on the ground' data about noise levels. And engaging the wider population in understanding how noise affects them personally
