As an older sister my interests also include enjoying precious time with my younger siblings. Activities include creative play adventuring outdoors this includes either the park or the local play centre. Whilst in my part time job at McDonald’s I have gained personal attributes and skills over my intriguing experience. I have learnt that delivering excellent customer service is crucial to ensuring customers visit again. On a day to day basis I deal with large numbers of individuals, some of which are elderly care groups for instance, I speak loudly enough to be easily heard, and if I feel the elderly person has trouble following what I’m saying then I talk in a slow tone of voice and use shorter sentences. I have been doing work experience at Heartlands Resource Centre for a year now where I actively encouraged the service users to be as independent as possible my role is to help and support young adults in various activities and to intervene when necessary. I also have to organise the activities for the individuals before they arrive at the resource centre this experience has allowed me to show my reliability and determination and my time management skills. This includes communicating with them in terms they could easily understand, to make informed choices about their daily lives. By increasing my communication skills, I am able to successfully build strong, trusting relationships, by understanding their needs and was also able to deliver high quality care while maintaining their dignity.
I am highly energetic, self-motivated and approachable. I believe these personality traits are vital in order to do become an adult nurse. I believe I possess these qualities and will develop further knowledge, skills and abilities, over the 3 years of study, whilst working to the highest standard.
