Introduction This advertisement by Marvel, one of the biggest entertainment companies, made by Walt Disney, does a good job at catching the viewers’ attention as well as creating an excitement for that individual that the ad is being represented to, for example myself. This ad/poster can be found on movie billboards, commercials, magazines, etc. Marvel is definitely recognized by many people throughout the United States, but might not be well known by its name in foreign countries, however, the movies they create are known to be high ranked movies which are favored by children all ages and families all around the world. For as long as I can remember Marvel provided the best movies during my childhood period and the basic reason for that is they make the impossible be possible. There are many examples this ad complicates about gender roles today in our society which we expect from a female and how she needs to appear in order to fit in, but Marvel has shifted our beliefs saying other wise. As we observe the visual we overcome the usage of the color blue that is used a lot, which in this case having a female character being the more dominant figure complicates gender expectations because the color blue isn’t associated with women and surely isn’t seen as a “feminine” color in society.
