Palestine Rough Draft “What would happen if you built a refuge for a persecuted people in a place where another people already lived?” (“Israel and Palestine”). It’s safe to assume that conflict would arise, however one would imagine that a solution would be reached eventually. The current states of Israel and Palestine however reveal that this assumption is false, in fact the tensions have reached an indescribable level. Although Palestine’s current horrid state could be blamed upon its own inhabitants, it is their opposition, Israel, who has caused such great ruin. The Israeli Government however goes along with a peaceful pretense, deceiving the general masses to go along with their lie. Though the Israeli Government has declared that it want truce, its attempts at continuing the conflict and eliminating the Palestinian Population has rendered this allegation false. Israel originally started when a large population of Jewish people in Europe relocated to the British colony of Palestine to escape the persecution of Hitler’s regime during World War II. After a period of coexistence between the Palestinians and the Jews, the UN offered to divide Palestine into two entities, one for the Jews and one for the Palestinians. Israel has annihilated the once great Palestinian population, turning the land into a bloodbath. Some argue that this isn’t even the worst part of the military occupation, but rather serves as a gateway for escaping the hell the government has turned the conquered Palestinian land into. The Israeli Government’s treatment of the Palestinian people is unacceptable and it continues to persist that it wants a peaceful resolution, but the continued persecution of Palestinian people contradicts this
