This is such a blessing…I get to write my own obituary! It’s not very often that people have the opportunity to write their own obituary because they know the exact day that they will die. I thank God for the little angel he sent tonight to let me know my time here on earth is up tomorrow, 7/7/77. My life has been the best 105 years!
I began this wonderful journey called life on September 9, 1971 in Hartford, CT. I was born to Charlie and Jimmie Black-Major, and grew up in Windsor, CT with my three siblings. I graduated from Windsor High School in 1989 and then completed a Bachelor of Science in Education at Northeastern University, a Master of Education in Counseling Psychology from Cambridge College, a Master of Social Work from Catholic University of America and a Doctor of Philosophy in Leadership from Lancaster Bible College.

Being active in my sorority, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., a social service organization, I’ve been bless to work with some of the most intelligent, kind women who love to serve others and who I love dearly. Although I’ve won some awards in my career for my work with vulnerable populations and volunteerism, my most proud accomplishment is developing The Restoration Center at my church. Oh my God…this is a place where people can literally become restored in their lives through Christian counseling and prayer. I’ve seen lives transformed and restored right before my very eyes!
