The novel Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse touches multiple times on this topic; How do words relate to wisdom? In the author's opinion, he seemed to illustrate that words are not necessarily the best way to communicate wisdom. Throughout his early life, Siddhartha struggled with attaining his level of enlightenment he desired. No amount of hymns, prayers, rituals, and etc., made him feel like he was at peace.
